The 2019 Infrared Terahertz Quantum Workshop (ITQW) is a workshop-style conference that aims to bring together academic, government, and industry scientists in an intimate venue to encourage close interaction and collaboration.
The theme of the conference is broadly defined as the exploration of novel physical phenomena in quantum- and electromagnetically-engineered photonic materials in the infrared and terahertz frequency range and the exploitation of these phenomena to create novel optoelectronic devices and applications. The infrared and terahertz frequency range is particularly interesting for realizing practical devices based on these design principles owing to relaxed fabrication tolerances, low loss of metals, controllable plasmonic and nonlinear optical properties of semiconductors and 2D materials, and our ability to engineer intersubband transitions in semiconductor heterostructures.
During ITQW 2019 (http://www.itqw2019.com) hold in September 2019 in Ojai (CA, USA), Zeineb Loghmari, a PhD student of the group, received a Best Poster Award for her poster entitled “Dual single-frequency far infrared (17.5 and 19.5 µm) emission from InAs-based distributed feedback double metal waveguide quantum cascade laser”

Laura Monge-Bartolome receives a Best Poster Award during iNOW 2019.
The international Nano-Optoelectronics Workshop (iNOW) is a premier international forum for Nano-materials, Optoelectronics and Photonics researchers and industrialists. Unlike the ‘standard’ conferences and workshops, iNOW is unique in its format of long and immersive engagement among researchers from academia and industry who are involved in nanoscale photonic and optoelectronic materials, devices, and applications, where in-depth discussions and arguments take place, collaborations form, and personal friendships develop.
During iNOW 2019 (http://oemt.sysu.edu.cn/inow2019/welcome/index.htm) hold last July in China, Laura Monge-Bartolome, a PhD student of the group, received a Best Poster Award for her poster entitled « Toward mid-IR optoelectronic devices on Silicon photonic integrated circuits ».

Olivier Delorme receives the Best Poster Award during the 16th JNMO.
The 16thJNMO (national workshop on nano, micro and optoelectronics) have been held 13th– 15thMay in Agay, France. The JNMO gather every two years the French scientific community dealing with the growth, fabrication, physics and integration of devices for microelectronics and optoelectronics applications (https://www.crhea.cnrs.fr/JNMO2018/).
Olivier Delorme, a PhD student of the group, received the Best Poster Award for his poster entitled « Ga(In)SbBi Alloys For Mid-IR Applications: Growth And Characterization ». The award committee was particularly impressed by his maturity and his perfect knowledge of the research area.
