Listening to nanostructures’ absorption and chirality

with widely tunable photo-acoustic spectroscopy

Emilija Petronijević, Ph.D.

SBAI Department, La Sapienza University of Rome

Photo-acoustic spectroscopy (PAS) reveals absorption in nanostructures, which can be further used to sense chiro-optical light-matter interaction in specially designed nanogeometries. PAS is scattering-free, low-cost, non-destructive and sensitive. We now enrich it with new degrees of freedom: excitation with a widely tunable laser, tunable chopper, polarization, angle of incidence, beam diameter, and the possibility of spatial absorption mapping.
